Description :
Reporting to the Director of Communications and Corporate Affairs, the Records Consultant provides archiving services to Vanier College, overseeing the whole life cycle of documents.

More specifically, but not limited to, the Records Consultant:

• Follows administrative standards, processes and policies;
• Works with Vanier’s Department of Corporate Affairs to maintain and implement the College’s classification plan and retention schedule;
• Works in collaboration with the different departments to ensure compliance with records management procedures;
• Works with Vanier’s Department of Corporate Affairs to promote policies and procedures relating to records management;
• Promotes the use of the classification plan and the retention schedule by training the College’s employees and following up after trainings;
• Ensures that proper retention rules are followed and that documents are retained or destroyed according to the retention schedule;
• Assists the different departments during the digitization process of their documents.

Other related tasks which fall within the scope of the classification of this position may be assigned.

Schedule: From 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. – schedule to be determined (14 hours per week)
Classification: Bibliothécaire

Part-time specific project until June 30, 2018 with a possibility of extension.
Requirements :
Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Information Sciences or equivalent.

Conditions related to the specific position:
• 2 years of pertinent experience and a certificate in archiving, or 3 years of pertinent experience;
• Excellent English and French oral and written competencies (to be tested);
• Ability to understand security issues and to implement current ILS security procedures;
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Access, Word and Excel (to be tested);
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team based environment.
